Is there a limit to how many times I can get Bronchitis when Antibiotics become useless?
I am 62, smoke and I have had Bronchitis about 15 times in my life. Antibiotics seem to work all the time.
Answers:
No, quit smoking for your lungs sake. You probably have COPD with emphysema, too.
Well smoking is most likely the cause. Can also lead to asthma among other things as we all have been told. I don't believe there is a limit and having it once would probably make you more susceptible to reoccurring episodes.
I don't know how many times you can get it, but I do know that smoking will cause it, over and over. I, too, am getting bronchitits a lot, and anti-biotics are helpful, but as long as I continue to smoke, I know i will keep getting it.
Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tube, and smoking aggravates it, so you're likely to continue to get it. Anti biotics are designed to kill bacteria, and after prolonged useage can become useless, because these germ, or viruses can become immune to them. Viruses, by their very nature can be very hard to kill, because they mutate all the time.which is why we don't have a cure for the "common cold" or AIDS.
