?how long?
how long do planters warts stay on your feet. How do they get there. And why do they hurt soooo bad!!
Answers:
Warts are technically called verrucae. The plantar part just means they are on the plantar part or sole of your foot.
They are caused by a virus and there are many different strains. You likely picked-up this virus walking barefoot somewhere moist where the virus was living (like a locker room). They hurt bad because you are stepping on something that shouldn't be there like if a healthy person without a wart walked on a stone all day. They can be stubborn and if freezing and the duct tape didn't work perhaps you could have them "scooped" out under local anesthesia. There are also laser treatments podiatrists like myself can do at a hospital or surgery center.
You need to see a doctor and have it removed. That is the only way to rid yourself of it.
They hurt so bad because they are shaped like tiny little jagged rocks.
Dr. Scholls makes a Clear Away wart remover just for plantar warts. It not only helps it to go away, but cushions it a little making it just slightly easier to walk on.
they generally last a long time. the only way to get them to go away is to get the "seeds" out of the middle. be careful playing with them though, they are very contagious and can spread to your hands or other parts of your body. (of course, they aren't called plantar warts at that point) i would recommend that your first step be to see another doctor.. maybe a podiatrist. a podiatrist specializes in the feet. or, a dermatologist may be of some help to you.
When I was a teenager I had 5 planters warts on my left foot 4 were small and 1 was of a good size and right on the top of my foot. I used all kinds of wart remover meds across the counter. Nothing worked. Finally I went to the doctor and he burned them off. He said they could possible come back, but they never did. That has been @ least 25 yrs. ago.
Good Luck
