Can humans get Parvo?

My aunt recently was diagnosed with a blood disorder and her doctor said it might be parvo, but they need to get the blood tests back first. If she does have it, is it contageous? Serious Answers only

people can and i don't know if it can spread
Yes they can but only in very rare cases, where the virus drastically mutates. However, I am inclined to think the doctor is crazy. Parvo is NOT a blood disorder. Parvo is a gastric tract virus. Yes, it would be contagious if she had it. The chances she does have it are less than 1 in 100 billion.
Yes, and she are lucky your doctor found it.

It is not the exact strain found in dogs or cats, but one that humans get

i would get a second opinion she may have Lyme disease or smothing more common in humans than parvo
Yes- although not the same as the canine variety. It causes "fifth disease" (AKA erythema infectiosum), which is somewhat common in children. Fifth disease is characterized by a bright red rash on the face- which looks like the person has been slapped. It is usually mild, but can cause a form of anemia.
