Anyone suffer with fibromyalgia how do u cope?

Answers:
Fibromylagia... I have lupus and fibromyalgia so I got a double whammy. I am 27 y/o and youthfulness is also key to combating this illness. I find that people who are older have problems with the fibro flare subsiding. I cope by excercising, I know it sounds crazy but you have to force yourself. What I have come to realize is that fibromyalgia is rooted in the brain. If you believe that you hurt then you will. If you believe that you will get well, then you will. I have never taken any pain meds for fibro and I have had bouts so severe that I lost my ability to walk. Once you tell yourself that you can overcome the pain you will. Once your brain signals to your body to ease up then the muscles will become less tense. Remove stress, meditate! I excercise and that's what helps me. When you don't feel like it, do it anyway. I've had bouts with insomnia but I have found that Sleepytime Tea keeps my mind from racing at night when I lay down to go to sleep. Don't take naps during the day so that way your body will feel tired and you will automatically go to sleep. And stay away from caffeine that will prohibit sleep. As you know sleep is a main factor of why the pain stays lingering on, write down the things that you have to do for the next day so that you won't lay in bed thinking about what you have to do. I hope this helps you.
Had it about 15 years and right now i'm not handling very well.I take pain pills and muscle relaxers and that just takes the edge off pain. I am 51 yr old and the last 2 yrs has been worse. you just have to take it one day at a time but not easy.I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy.
Cymbalta is the only thing that has helped me:

It took about a month to get over side effects: dizziness, nausea, lack of appetite, anxiety, sleeplessness. After that, no problems. I cannot tell you how much better it makes me feel.

I had it really bad with those knots that would come up on my lower arms and legs. My legs constantly hurt.
