Should I get tested for diabetes?
My friend has diabetes and i was using her tester and at a random time of the day and my sugar was 235. and a few days before when I woke up it was 217. I know both these numbers are high but lately when I test it is usually around 115-150. Do you think I have anything to worry about?
Answers:
Im diabetic and the numbers you list mean nothing to me. Your blood sugar should be around 4-6 anything higher and you are diabetic. Maybe you have some other range in testing blood sugar in the U.S. is it imperial or metric?
Get tested just to be safe.
u should just get tested. it's not a bad thing to do, just to make sure that you don't have it. better safe than sorry, and good luck!
You should get tested very often. diabetes could be pretty dangerous sometime.. My grandpa died b/c of diabetes.
Perhaps you were eating a lot of starches?
Monitoring your blood sugar levels could not be a bad thing. Early detection is key for protecting yourself from this silent killer.
Probably would not hurt to keep tabs on your readings for a week to see what they are running. A lot depends on your age, weight, and family history.
Take your readings at different times of day and keep track of what you are eating for a week.
If not looking good, take this info to your doctor and see what he/she thinks.
Good luck
irregular readings occur before and after you eat and during different times of day.you need to consult a physician for a proper blood test. this could be serious, so dont wait. diabetes happens to thin and heavy, old and young.its not something to mess around with.
yes definately get tested. get below 100 if possible. can be the cause of gr8t problems later in life.. even damage your nerves in later life... YES get tested soon
If you have any symptoms like increased thirst, increased urination, increased fatigue, blurred vision, I'd have to say welcome to the club. Otherwise, talk to your doc for formal glucose tolerance test.
get it checked as soon as possible
Blood sugar in the 200s is quite high. Please get tested ASAP.
If your fasting blood sugar (12 hours of no food) is 127 or higher, you are diabetic. You need to reduce the carbohydrates in your diet and stay away from Trans Fats.
Checking your sugar with a meter and it high doesn't mean you are a diabetic. Yes you do need to get tested by a doctor. Diabetes is nothing to mess with, your life my demend on it. So please get tested.
