I eat once a day, how do I get my body out of starvation mode?
Answers:
stop doing that, eat low fat yogurt for breakfast with a little granola on it, take a vitamin rich power bar for lunch or snacks, eat a green salad for lunch, then maybe a piece of fruit in the afternoon, and a good dinner of green veggies, yellow veggies, tomato, some low fat cottage cheese, and baked or broiled fish, you will still lose some weight without being stuck in the starve position, though it may take exercise to turn on the metobolic furnace again.
drink lotsssss of waterrrrrrr
eat fruitssss anytime of the day..
drink green tea it helps burn fat
grape fruit does too
do not eat after 6pm

Start adding a little snack here and there slowly until you are built up to about 6 small meals a day.
Start by eating healthy even if u dont feel hungry eat, eventually ur body will get used 2 it, & crave the food that u have been giving it! try it it really works..
Just do it.
Start with snacks, and eat at the same time every day.
eat more!!
It's unhealthy to eat one meal a day. Spread it out and have five small meals a day.
marina is telling u a bunch of crap. just eat little meals through out the day to get your metabolism going

Your not the only one out there. I am just like that. I am try to get out of it to. 1st quit smoking if you can. Then munch on anyhting and everything it will start the process. From there hopefully you stomache will be able to handle more in each meal or more than one a day. Thats how I'm trying it.
Say.. pass the grape seed oil....... please. seriously..:>
eat 6 small meals a day.
You should eat more than once a day. If you're worried about your weight, eat lots of smaller, healthier meals during the day. Also drink a lot of water.
Obviously eat more. Do it in small steps start by adding snacks and things like that. You probably need to see a nutritionist or doctor about this though before doing it.
You can't get your body out of starvation mode if you keep starving it. Eat, and think about how you'll look at 21 with a hump on your back when you get osteoporosis from utilizing your own bone mass to support your necessary functions (like a heartbeat).
Eat 100 to 150 calories within one hour of waking. (I am not a breakfast person so this was hard to learn, but it starts your metabolism.) Then eat 100-150 calories every 2 hours up til dinner time. If you are just maintaining your weight, stay at 2,000 calories or so, but make sure you get a good variety of foods. Fresh veggies, fruits, grains, etc. If you eat carbs, eat them early in the day. Try to combine protein with some good carbs at your other snacks to keep your energy going. Stay hydrated with water and teas, etc. Good luck.
PS: You may feel sluggish the first day or so, but stick with it. your body will catch on eventually.
Several small meals are better for you than one meal.
I have an example for you. This summer I worked hard, took green tea pills and ate several small meals, making sure to not skip breakfast. I lost 13 pounds. My co-worker did the same thing but limited her meals to one meal a day. She gained 5 pounds.
