I eat too many carbs but they are cheap and i am broke. any suggestions?

Do you notice things like bread and pretzels and crackers with lots of carbs are very filling and very cheap- what are some good cheap things to eat that are healthy and not full of carbs.

You can reduce your "net carbs" by eating whole grains and legumes such as baked beans, refried beans, etc. They are still filling and cheap but they are good carbs that are healthy for you, and you will feel satisfied and healthy. Whole-grain pastas are cheap and easy to find. Good whole-grain breads are a little bit harder. Dried beans are especially cheap and make good soups and home-made hummus and things like that. "Simple" carbs like those found in white breads, white pastas and sugary cereals are the carbs you need to avoid, so just be smart about what carbs you eat. That way, you can be healthy and still stay within a tight budget.


fruit is filling and cheap too.
yoghurts, and fruit bought from a farmers market.
Tuna salad on lettuce works for me when I need to take off the pounds. Not expensive either if you get the cheapest tuna. Fruit has lots of carbs and in my area it's outrageously expensive too.
frozen veggies?
go to health foods or trader joes. they have healthier versions of your favorite carb filled foods for the same price.

Well, beans are low in carbs and high in protein, they are filling and are cheap, if you like refried beans, get the ones with no lard, and they are much better for you.
They're filling and fattening.
Fruit and Veggies are great but not filling, unless like have steamed a Whole broccoli and yes, added the butter.
But cheap and a Protein I would suggest buying peanut butter, and the jelly use jam which has fruit.
Craving the carbs is really craving sweets I think.
What I do know that eliminating any of the White group of foods: bread, pasta etc has maintained the weight I'm keeping.
P.S. how about dried fruit. filling part with the crunch would be coconut.. blah blah. sorry I can go on and on

Pork rinds are low carb and cheap. So is celery with peanutbutter, orange tic tacs.beef jerky, all of these are low in carbs and high in protien.
