I did a work out on my abs and Now I am really sore?
I worked out on my abs and now I am very sore. My upper tummy is hurting really bad, and my mid to upper back is killing me. I'm thinking I may have pulled somthing. My stomach has a weird feeling. Kind of like hunger pangs feeling, but even when I eat it is still there. Does anyone know what I can take to get rid of it. I want to feel a lot better when I wake up in the morning. I already took 800 mg of Ibuprofen. Thanks

Oh dear! You may have overdone it!
Take a hot epsom salts bath (you can get the salts at a drug store or bulk store). Don't overdo the Ibuprofen cuz you may regret it when your tummy rebels (too much acid production in the stomach)
Being an RMT, I highly recommend massaging the area. This will help to get the blood to the muscles, which will inturn help get much needed oxygen & nutrients to the muscles, and supposedly help to rid the muscles of the build up of lactic acid.
You are probably going to feel really sore for the next few days. This is from what's known as "delayed onset muscle soreness" (aka DOMS)..don't be surprised, as this happens to the best of us! Even trained athletes get it. Like I said, massage the area, take baths, etc.
I hope you feel better soon! And I hope this info helped.
Take Care!

P.S. another thing you could try is a deep moist heating pad if you've got one. Thermaphore brand is an excellent choice, however, rather expensive. What you could try is to take some towels, soak them in hot water (make sure you cover your abdominal area with a dry towel so as to not burn yourself) and place them on your belly. Just be careful not to burn your skin!
your muscles havent been used much lately and thats what hurts, take a hot shower and use bengay, go to bed, you might not feel a lot better for two or three days, but do your best to keep exercising, in a week or so you will feel great and start to look better too.
Wow if your back is hurting I'm thinking it isn't from doing the crunches. To pull something in your back you will have either twisted somehow or overstretched it.
Your abs will really be sore if you haven't done them before, but your back shouldn't be hurting from crunches, I'm betting it's from something else.
You took ibuprofen and you should feel alot better in the am. Use a heating pad too, these things I love lol.
Have you ever tried products to help with lactic acid build up? The really can help. Email me and I tell you what I use.

Depends on how often you do this. If it still hurts in the morning.try mixing honey, lemon juice, an antacid tablet, and one scoop ice cream, one scoop p-nut butter, mix, drink.. and see if it's not better.
Rest, do some light aerobics to keep the blood flowing.
When you heal; do your abs this way
Lie on your kitchen floor.
Knees up.
Feet down on floor.
Hands across your upper chest.
Put your feet up under the bottom of your kitchen counter.
Raise your upper back 1/4 up off the floor and HOLD yourself up for 20 seconds. Feel your abs shake.
Do every day.
Do not go up higher than 1/4 of the way up. If you do, your sides and back muscles are holding you up. Your abs will stop shaking.
That is why your back hurts. It did the work, not your abs.
Do not put your hands behind your head. If you do, then you are pulling yourself up.
Do this every day.
you gotta thank God.. and credit yourself.. honestly. you're attempt WAS SUCCESSFUL.
it's just normal.. u'l get used to it when you did the set of ab-paining exercise thhe fourth time.. there even came a point when i cant laugh becasue it really hurts.. and damn! you jsut cant sneeze, the quick contraction is crazy!.. it really hurts.. but when you see your mids are shaping.. man.. u'll begin to be proud..
it's just the beginning.. dont give up.. dont take pain killers too, when the muscles feel numb, air supply will be normal-to-relax, not really that much air supply to an 'injured' or 'for repair' muscles.
first off did you do them properly.crunches work best .just lift up till your shoulder blades come off the ground, keep your feet flat.and your hands across your chest,as far as pain you may have pulled some muscle dont worry about it less it continues for along period of time, take a couple days off see what happens ,then maybe just do a few to work the muscle again to make it stronger later
Soreness is normal after a workout. Your muscles may need 2 to 3 days to recover. It may be much worse when you wake up tomorrow.
I don't think hunger pangs are normal.
Don't overdose on Ibuprofen. What you need is a good stretching. Lie on your back and put your arms over your head and relax. Then stretch your whole body from head to toe. Feel yourself 'growing' as you stretch.
Always stretch before and after doing your abs. Some pain is normal to show you worked them but what you've described is unhealthy. They should not hurt so much that it keeps you from eating.
I hope you feel better.
you will feel be very sore the first time you do the routine. If you don't work your abs the next day because they are sore, then they will be sore the next time you work them. However, if you tough it out and work them while they are sore you will stop feeling sore after about 2 minutes of exercise. Also, if you continue to work through the pain every day, in about 2 weeks your abs will not feel sore any more. Taking L-Glutamine can make you feel less sore and aide in recovery. The body uses Glutamaic acid (an essential amino) to make L-Glutamine so don't worry, Glutamine is not like steroids or something. The majority of your muscle is made of Glutamine. On this routine you will gain abs fast and if you don't have much fat around your midsection, you will see these results right away. A few years ago I found this website http://www.netfit.co.uk/abd6.htm. It's all you really need! This info is out of date though. A new study showed that utilizing one of those exercise balls in combination with crunches can get better results.
