5'5" 138 pounds, must lose weight?

Okay, I am seriously not liking the way I look AT ALL. I refuse to eat more than once a day, depending on how much exercise I will be getting, maybe twice. Good thing though, is that I haven't let myself eat to the point where I'm not even hungry anymore, ever. I only eat because my mother makes me. I tried making myself throw up for the first time last night, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Does it really make you lose weight? I only want to get down to 120.

Answers:
Listen girl stop making yourself puke thats a bad choice
all you have to do is excercise 30mins to an hour everyday
DO PILATES ....its great for females
the less you eat the more your body will grab onto fat when you eat it
so eat 3 small meals a day
low carbs low carbs low carbs

try eating healthy 3-5 times a day, each meal being the size of your fist. then excercise 30-45 minutes 4-5 times a week. that's healthier and if you lose weight too fast you'll gain it right back. do it slowly and with a diet that you can keep for long term. starvign yourself will make you lose weight slower
Bulimia makes your teeth rot and can make you die.
125 pounds will work, but if you shock your body, it hangs onto whatever food it gets harder, as it feels it is in a famine.

You seem to be on the fringes of an anorexia complex.

What happens when you get to 120 and feel you are "too fat"?

Eat three meals a day of healthy foods.

DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. It copmpletely screws up your system and you'll end up like Karen Carpenter.
stop stop stop ! this is a dangerous path you are choosing. Instead try more activity. Walking, biking, sports any thing but puking. My cousin beth has fought bulimia for years and it is horrible.
My wife is 5'5" and is so very, very sexy at her current weight of 140lbs. 120 is too damn skinny.
Depends. do you want to have nasty breath and you want your teeth to rot out of your head.

I am 5'1 and 118. if you say ur fat then I must be a whale. Relax. plus.. beign stick thin is out. guys like big butts (or boobs depending on the guy) on guy wants a pure twig.

Plus not eating makes you lose weight rapidly but then yor metabolism slows down and you start to gain weight every time you do eat anything. So when you hit 120 or what ever and you start eating normal again, then you will balloon past what you are now.

If you really want to lose weight eat 6 small meals a day. well 3 decent meals and 3 small snacks in between. Excersize DAILY.. and sleep regularly. Balance your meals.. make sure you get a moderate amount of every oneof the food groups and don't deny your self the things you like to snack on (everything is good for you in moderation) Portion controll is the key.

Do not eat after 7 or 8 pm depending on what your bed time is. so this way you don't sleep on a full stomach and you are sure to burn everything you had eaten.
The less food you eat the more your body stores. That's why you aren't losing weight. Try eating several small meals a day and exercising. If you induce vomiting to lose weight your teeth will rot, your breath will smell and your hair will fall out.
Jogging, 5 miles or more morning and evening, or lots of sex.
Becoming bulemic or even anerexic (sp) is so way unhealthy! Exercising is definetly the way to go. I would suggest arobics to lifting weights. Eating is OK! The best way to eat and to lose weight is to snack. Snack healthy and in little amounts through out the day. Digesting small snacks (like crackers, cheese sticks, apples, salsa 'n' chips [my fav]) throughout the day compared to digesting 3 big meals a day lets your body "seem" full when its really not.
Try eating more times during the day and less as a total. If you only eat once a day your body will try and store fat to cover the drought periods. And look at the nutrition you are getting.

Check into what your body fat percentage is. And remember muscle is more dense than fat. Muscle is good. Excess fat isn't. But since you are a girl remember looking chisiled on a guy may look great. But curves and smooth lines are what makes a gal look good.

Throwing up isn't the answer. That leads to all sorts of health problems.
Oh dear.
Not eating often enough will actually make your body hold onto your fat with a death grip. If you starve yourself your body reacts by holding onto everything it can so it can survive in case it doesn't get fed again.
It's actually better to eat small meals every 3-4 hours, and not for 2 hours before you go to sleep.

I'm 5'7" and 142 and I too am unhappy with the way I look and I'm working on it now.
Don't eat bad food, and when you work out, do cardio for longer than 30 minutes. Your body will burn calories until 30 and fat after that. Work out 3-4 days a week and you will start to see results, I promise.

Do NOT go down the bulimic road, your breath and teeth will be hideous, and the condition really messes with your head.

Take care of yourself.
Binging and purging is not the answer to weight loss, eat healthy foods and moderate exercise. If you obsess about you make yourself sick in many ways.

Esophageal ulcers can result from vomitting excessively . HCL acid from the stomach eats the lining of the esophagus. Second, if you binge, purge, binge, purge, binge, purge, binge, purge, your weight will get more out of control. this is call Yoyoing. You lose ten by puking and gain 30. Your body will adjust..

138 lbs is not overweight for your height. Image is something that size can't fix. You need to see a counselor that specializes in eating disorders before you get yourself started on one.
The only effective way of losing weight is exercise. No Matter what is you need to get your heart rate up to 80%. A mix of cardio and weight training is best for shaping your body. If you can do that 20min a day every day it beats the heck out of throwing up. Plus the stomach acid will rot your teeth.
I'm 5'5" and I'm 140 pounds. You're not overweight at all. Actually if you research it your normal range. But if you really don't like how you look just take a few minutes a day. (Like 15 or so doing push ups or sit up or lunges) You will be amazed how your body will change. And I found that if I ate 5 small meals a day I wasn't hungry. Don't resort to bulemia its not healthy at all no matter what anyone tells you.
This is not the way to lose weight. Bullemia is a serious disorder and can lead to health problems and even death. Please, try to lose weight that smart and healthy way. You're not that much over weight for your height so it should be easy for you. A balanced healthy diet and exercise is all you need, not some crazy fad idea that is dangerous. Also, you need to eat. If you're not eating you'll gain weight. It's that simple. Eat no less that 1200 calories a day, fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats, low fat dairy and whole grain breads and pastas. Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, drink plenty of water and at least 7-8 hours of sleep at night. Good luck!
Healthy weight loss tips

* Take one pound at a time
Don’t get overwhelmed by how much weight you need to lose. Try to remember that "losing 15 pounds in two weeks" is nothing to celebrate. It is important to realize that the more quickly weight is lost, the more likely the loss is coming from water and muscle, not fat.

Since muscle tissue is critical in keeping our metabolism elevated, losing it actually leads to a decrease in the amount of calories we can each day without gaining weight.

Fat loss is best achieved when weight is lost slowly. Strive for a weight loss of no more than 3-4 pounds per week. One pound of weight is equivalent to 3500 calories.

* Set Reachable Goals
For instance, if you know you need to get more exercise, begin with a manageable goal of, say, walking 10 minutes a day that you know you can achieve. Then build your self-esteem by achieving the small goals you set yourself.

The same logic applies for losing weight.

* Stay off the scales
Don’t get discouraged when your progress seems to be slow according to your bathroom scales. They do not provide a true measure of what is going on with the body.

If exercise levels are adequate (5-7 days a week), you may be putting on muscle but losing fat, thus losing inches even if you are not losing pounds. It's always a good idea to do several body measurements to have a second objective way to monitor progress.

* Stay focused on being healthy, not thin
# Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motive changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight. The Food Pyramid offers a basic outline of the types and amounts of food you should eat each day to give your body the nutrients it needs for optimal health.

* Fat Free?
We've known for some time that limiting high fat foods in the diet can be helpful with weight loss. That's because fats pack in 9 calories per gram compared to only 4 calories per gram from proteins or carbohydrates. To many, the message to limit fats implied an endorsement to eat unlimited amounts of fat-free products. Just to clarify, fat-free foods have calories too. In some cases fat-free foods have as many calories as their fat laden counterparts. If you eat more calories than your body uses, you will gain weight. Eating less fat will help you to lose weight. Eating less fat and replacing it with excessive amounts of fat-free products will not.

* Drink plenty of water
Drink eight glasses a day. Water is a natural appetite-suppressant. Nettle tea is a great weight-loss tea as it supports metabolism and has diuretic properties.

* Reward yourself
# Each time you reach a goal, such as losing 5 pounds, reward yourself with a gift or a massage.

* Seek help if you need it
# A big key in long term weight control comes from receiving encouragement and support from others. Find a friend to lose weight with or you can check to see if groups such as Weight Watchers, or eDiets offer programs and resources in your area by clicking the links. You may also wish to check with your local hospital to see if their registered dietician conducts group weight loss programs.

* Watch your portions
With the advent of "supersize" meals and increasingly huge portions at restaurants, our concept of normal serving sizes is a distant memory. Be mindful of the amounts of food you consume at a sitting. When necessary, divide your food in half and ask for a take home bag. It is all too easy to be a "plate cleaner" even when served enormous portions. Learn to pay attention to your hunger level and stop eating when you feel comfortably full, not stuffed.

* Eat your food slowly
Did you ever notice that thin people take an awfully long time to eat their food? Eating slowly is one method that can help take off pounds. That's because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. The amount of calories consumed before you begin to feel full can vary significantly depending on how quickly you eat. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy your food.
hi
This plan really worked for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

Good luck
