I'm trying it out now, and thanks to my family, i'm making great progress. One of them is a health nut who can talk your ear off so I've heard it all.
Anyway, going to give it to you straight, from my experiences so far, the food they send you really isn't that bad. The only problem I have is with the eggs and sometimes some of the bars leave this grainey feeling in your mouth. Other wise, it honestly isn't that bad.if you haven't devoted your entire life to eating food look alikes like mc donalds and taco bell, then I suppose you'd have a problem with it.
Anyother things, carbs are kind of limited, just you get used to it cause you're not just eating the food they send. I've just been snacking on a ton of fruits and veggies something...that also took a couple days to get used to. I think that the diet is pretty flexible in food options but one thing you have to focus on it how much you're putting into your mouth.
Anything else.ummmm, oh, one thing that annoys me. When people complain about how the diet doesn't teach you to make decisions beyond their prepackaged food. Humans have brains for a reason. I believe that you have to come to this self realization that the way you ate before the diet..was obviously a mistake that needs to be corrected through a conscious effort of your own. Humans are capable of learning.
if you're seriously considering going onto nurtisystem, I suggest buying alot of those little sandwhich bags and rationing out servings. Makes it easy for a grab and go life-style.once everything is all done of course, and...something physhological about it, I don't remember exactly.
With few exceptions, the food was gross.
The dogs would not even each the muffins. The "burgers" Dan Marino is so fond of are freeze dried. You have to re-hydrate with hot water. The ham is simular to SPAM. Many of the items leave an sour aftertaste.
There were a few items that I could eat...breakfast cereal, soy pretzels, soup.
Getting through to the customer service number to exchange and cancel the service was a challenge. I had to sit on hold for 40 minutes to cancel my membership.
Storage can also be an issue. With about 4 package per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert) that is about 120 packages from the size of a chip bag to a frozen dinner, that takes up a good deal of pantry space.
If you want to try the food w/o signing up, to to eBay and enter nutrisystem lot. Pick a seller w/good feedback and that includes the program paperwork. If you like it, you can sign up, if you don't, your not stuck with a ton of expensive food that you hate.
