I don't think you can do it over a short period, you have to lower your cholestrol levels in your diet. Cut out the crap (chocolate, buscuits, full fat stuff ect.) and replace it with healthy low fat versions. Try and cut back on red meat and eat fish and chicken. Red wine is good for thinning the blood, but only a small glass a night.
Also take up some excercise like walking if you aren't active or running if you're fit.
A rapid reduction in LDL levels is experienced after just one bout of moderate-vigorous exercise (eg cycling, walking (FAST), running, cross trainer). However this is quickly reversed if you do not continue with the exercise and also watch the amount of saturated and trans fat in the diet. Omega-3 oils are also well known to have a beneficial effect on LDL levels.
