I am 51 and looking for entry level yoga dvd?
Answers:
I personally like AM and PM yoga for Beginners with Rodney Yee. Each tape is just 30 minutes, so it's easy to fit in to your schedule. It's very gentle and easy to pick up.
Have fun with whichever dvd you choose. :)
ooo, i ran across a dvd at barnes and noble yesterday, check out barnes and noble online!! I think they have the whole starter kit package.
I know a lot of people really like the Lilias videos. They are entirely suitable for a beginner, but even as a beginner they were a little too slow and soothing for me. My favorite beginner's video is Patricia Walden's first Yoga for Beginners. She gives great, thorough instruction and offers a lot of suggestions for adjustments to poses that you just can't quite do. She also has a second beginner's video out, but I've never tried that one-- though I'm sure it's as good as all of her other videos. A lot of the beginner videos don't really offer good enough instruction, IMHO. You get the most benefit out of the poses when you practice them properly-- which you can't do unless you learn what muscles you should be working or stretching and how to do that safely. Which is why I really like Patricia Walden.
Namaste!
