I DO NOT want to lose weight, can I still do Pilates?
I really don't want to lose weight, I'm already thin. I just want to get toned, increase muscle, and release stress. Will Pilates cause me to lose weight I don't want to really lose?
Answers:
Yes, you can still do Pilates. Muscle weighs more, but burns more calories so you may have to increase caloric intake somewhat. Eat the way you have been eating at first, if you start to lose, bump it up by a protein shake or something along those lines.
you wont lose weight if:
1. you're at your normal body weight
2. you exercise in moderation
3. you keep eating
Yes you can still do Pilates
no. if anything, you may gain a little due to increased muscle.
another way to get toned, muscled, and destressed is weight lifting. start slow. walk into a gym weight room and start trying stuff out.
If you increase muscle mass you'll actually gain weight since muscle weighs more than fat.
Just eat right and don't exercise obsessively.
Yes if you are at your normal body weight then you should replace the rest of your body fat with muscle which will make you more toned and if anything you will gain weight(not as in get bigger but since muscle weighs more than fat) and probley end up being more healthy..
Pilates is a great activity for toning and conditioning of the body. The movements of the exercises are exactly that: movement. So, the mere fact that the Pilates exercise program involves movement means that you will burn calories. If you don't want to lose weight, make sure you're getting enough calories daily.
