how many push-ups do i have to do to see results?
iv been doing push-ups for about a week and see no reslults, how many do i have to do to see results?? how many should i do a day?.thanks

try 50 a day and rest on the weekend and in a month u should see results i use to do 500 push ups every day not in a row but in sets of 60 every 5 minutes and i used to do 20 more after that and when u get stronger go more than 50
do about 200 push ups a day. or 1000 push ups a week

push ups wont build noticeable muscle mass, but they will build great tone. try doing them until muscle failure once a week. that means until you cant lift your body off the ground at all, but ONLY once a week, as doing this over and over without resting your muscles can cause severe strains and muscle tears. other than that, try doing pull ups
You basically would just have to do push ups to the point of fatigue (this means that you literally feel you couldn't possibly do one more)- and then push yourself to do one or two more. Eventually you will be able to increase the number you can do- but always do them to fatigue + one or two. The fatigue tells you you are pushing yourself to your limit and this is when the muscle starts to build.
So there really isn't a set amount to do. Everyone is probably different.
If you want to build muscle you also have to eat more calories and more protein (about 1-2 grams per pound of body weight).
You need to do 3 sets of 20. Rest for 1 minute in-between sets. Once a day, 5 times a week. You will see results in 4-6 weeks if you keep it up.
