What pain medication can I take?

What kind of pain medication can I take { im 14} after i get a root canal? I heard it hurts. But heres my situation I have to go to one place so they can do the rooot canal but I have to wait 4 days to get it filled and its two different doctors. So what medication could i take for pain?

Ok I just had a root canal about a month ago. No it doesnt hurt. you will just feel a little pressure. Ask for a perscription of Darvacet. If they cannot give that to you take 800mg of IBProfen. That would be 4 pills every 8 hours. That did me good. Honey you have nothing to worrry about. They do numb you. I think that hurt more than the after feelings of the root canal.But I am very very terrified of needles
check the label on Advil or its generic equivalent. It should help you. Again call your dentist and ask for prescription pain reliever.
With all the new technology that we have in dentistry, most procedures have become much less painful than they used to be--especially root canals. The only discomfort you should feel is when the dentist gives you the injection to numb your tooth. Afterwards you may have some slight tenderness when you chew or bite down, but only minor.
