Root Canals or Pulled which is better?
Answers:
Helo - Do U think the dentist is a quack? If U can save the teeth & take care of 'em so they don't decay is that good? Do U chew better w/ no teeth? Is it better 2 get some thing 2 replace them & less pain? I'm looking @ getting it done but decay is problem.
Personally i think to have them out is better, root canal makes the tooth a lot weaker, i had 2 done and both of mine snapped in have then i had to have the tooth out anyway, so instead of having the discomfort of having it again I'd rather just have it pulled, and i swear dentist say to have root canal done so they make more money as you have it pulled anyway because it doesn't last
I will suggest to do the root cannal with a GOOD DENTIST, (remember thety just want to make money), because you will be having trouble bitting and eating regularly, you will have empty spaces, no confortable! I you get they done by not a good dentist you might have lots of pain and then you might need to re do it. Good luck!
Since they are molars, i would just have them pulled. Why spend all that money on a root canal and have the complications when you really dont need those teeth and no one will be able to see that they are missing. I have had both. (tooth pulled and root canal) and i would much rather have a tooth pulled. Good luck!
You always want to try and save a tooth if possible. You are talking about your molars here which are your main chewing teeth and without them it will hard to eat on that side. Your Dentist has probably recommended a root canal so that you can then have a crown therefor looking and working as a real tooth. I would go on what your Dentist recommended.
Go with the root canals, pulling teeth will be more expensive in the long run (bridge work and icky dentures) For those people who have said that they have had root canals and the teeth have snapped off-ITS CAUSE YOU DIDN T GET THE POST AND CROWN DONE AFTER THE ROOT CANAL LIKE YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO! After you get a root canal the blood supply is cut off from the tooth making it brittle causing it to break that's why you need it. By the way, Dentist's would t need to charge you if we all just brushed and flossed our teeth like we are suppose to. Sorry, just get offended by people saying that Dentists are out to make money doing root canals-its not like they slapped the toothbrush out of your hands.
You really need to save your teeth if at all possible. If you have an extraction, the opposing teeth will drop (it's called super eruption - google that, it's nasty and you don't want it!), the adjacent teeth will shift, and your smaller teeth will have to take on the difficult work of grinding food, something they are not built to do. Furthermore, the bone in your jaw at the extraction site will receed, making a denture or implant nearly impossible without bone grafts. Don't amputate over a broken finger. Save your natural tooth as long as you can. They don't grow back, and you are worth the expense.
good question, really! -- jas
