So, how long is the process before braces?

Answers:
Well i havent had braces yet but i am getting them in 2 weeks and have been through the prep. The first appointment all he did was look at my teeth and tell my parents how he was going to treat them. This was called a screening. In my case i had class 3 underbite so this meant that my lower jaw wasnt done growing. I wasnt really listening during the screening but somehow by extracting teeth he can make my jaw so that when i does finish growing it will be where its supposed to.

Then a week later i had to go back for x ray and molds. I absolutly hated those. The xray was like when you break a bone except for youre standing up and this thing comes over your head and spins around. Then during impressions(molds) they put some creamy stuff that tasted horrible(your orthodontist may have flavors) into a mouthpeice looking thingy. They put it over your bottom teeth like a mouthpiece. Then the top teeth it touched the roof of my mouth and made me gag. Some tips for this is to breathe out your nose. They do this for about 30 seconds and take it out. Then they will take pictures with a regular camera with your mouth closed and being held open with lip stretchers.

Then in my case need four teeth pulled so i have an appointment for that later on this week. You may need to wait a week before you get spacers after extractions. Then you come back a week later for braces. I should warn you though, this is my orthodontist and his schedule. Yours may have a tight schedule and it may take longer to go through this process. Also nobody goes through the same process because people have different cases. This is my case and you may need a different one. I have been to 2 different orthodontists and the first one would have made it last for about 3 months before i got them put on. Anyways i wish you the best of luck and hope that in 2 years your teeth will be perfect.
like a month
well I am now in 8th grade and I'm done with my orthidontial (can't spell sorry) work, I first started it at about 8, and for a while, had an expander, and retainer, and all that junk, then at about 9 or 10, I got my braces for the first time. So for me it took about a year or two, but I think it probably depends on what your teeth are like (crooked or strait) from the beginning.
First you need to have any needed extractions which scheduling is the only delay. After that, it shouldn't take long to be fitted with braces. In fact, I knew one guy who had braces fitted before having extractions.
This question is incomplete. do you mean how long before the braces come off? If you are wearing night gear then twice as fast if you wear the nightgear all the time...it is what makes the teeth move...think about it too that will cut down on how many payments for visits you need to have withthe dentist.
