Tooth Pain. 2 Weeks after filling?

I had a filling 2 weeks ago on two, bottom left molars about two weeks ago, and after the Novacaine wore off i felt great!

till a couple days ago i was having a blunt pain, almost like how it felt when she was drilling my tooth,

and now it feels like the whole bottom left of my jaw is numb, and it hurts to chew near those two teeth..

could she have not filled the properly?
Could there be nerve damage?

I am a Dentist:

Although it is difficult to predict something without looking at it, I see 4 possibilities:

1.- The cavity was too deep, it got close to the nerve and you will need a root canal.

2.- There is an infection.- You will need antibiotics and if the infection is caused by that molar, then a root canal.

3.- The tooth could be cracked.- have your dentist check on this. If this is the case..you will probably loose the molar.

4.- HOPE IS THIS ONE: The filling is high. Sometimes when the dentist finishes the filling and the patients are still numb, the patients feel it great. But it might be a little to "high", so when you bite, the first thing that touches is the filling, instead of all the teeth touching at the same time. Over a period of time, the pain gets worse, specially when you chew. If this is the case, go to the dentist and the problem will be fixed by reducing the filling (usually in less than 1 min.)

Either way..CALL THE DENTIST.

good luck

Definitely give your dentist a call! This is not normal.

It's quite possible that the filling has come loose, and the nerve is getting irritated by food or drink.
Why haven't you called the dentist back. Definitely something is wrong. He could get you in immediately and there should be no charge for this as he did something wrong.
It could have become infected. Go back and have them take a look at it. You might need antibiotics, especially if it's painful and definitely if it becomes swollen. Go as soon as possible before it develops into a serious problem.
Talk to your Dentist ASAP. Something like that can actually be an abscess, an infection in the tooth from the decay. It may have spread farther down and into the bone. If this is the case, you will more than likely need a root canal. Not terribly fun, but at least you can keep your tooth. Don't try to just deal with the pain, it is your body's way of telling you that there is something wrong.
It sounds like you had the same thing I had happen. I had a molar filled but for some reason the dentist left a never exposed and it hurt so bad. I ended up having a root canal done and it was better after that. I would go back to the dentist and have them fix what they did not fix right in the first place.
call your dentist
sounds like either a nerve was hit with the drilling or the filling is touching a nerve end
The EXACT same thing happened to me and it meant the nerve was dying and I had to get a roort canal, which is actually less painful than other fillings.

The dentist said that the filling was very deep and it just caught the nerve.

Give him a call tomorrow. For pain try clove oil, which you put straight on the tooth with a cotton bud. Very good for easing pain!
