I have dry socket and I went in and they put a little drain in for a day. Does it hurt when they take it out?

Yea, it hurt really bad when they gave me the shots so they could cut open my mouth and put the drain in, but my question is does it hurt when i will go back in for them to take it out? he said he wont have to give me shots or anything, but didnt say anything about the pain.

I had dry socket when they pulled my wisdom teeth! That was the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my life! They used some soft kind of gauze strip material and shoved it in there. Once that was in I felt a lot better and the throbbing stopped, but then it was time for them to pull it out, and OUCH. The pain sucks, I know how bad it hurts when it throbs. Mine didn't heal for about a month or so, at least it felt that way. Of course it will probably be a little tender when they take it out. It might not hurt at first, but afterwards the pain just might creep up on you. Ask them for a prescription that will help reduce the pain.

No, it shouldnt hurt after he takes it out.
