How do you get rid of a white coated tongue?

Answers:
See your physician or dentist, especially if you have other symptoms like redness or pain!

This could be a yeast infection (Candida albicans) which is fairly common in infants and children, and can be easily treated with anti-fungal medications.

It is important to see a physician or dentist in case they are underlying causes, or if the problem is a symptom a another condition. It is possible for this condition to spread to other nearby areas

cut it off, or by a tounge scraper
buy a tongue scrapper...
Buy a tongue scraper.
Use a spoon, but make sure it is not a symptom of something more serious as well.
use a tongue scraper and mouthwash, however, if it does not go away, you may have oral thrush.which is a fungal infection in which case you need to see a doctor to get meds
close your mouth
Tongue scrapers do work, but I just brush mine and it works. I also increase my fluid intake if my tongue starts to turn white and that helps too.
You could have an infection called thrush, which is caused by yeast. One question to ask is if you've taken any antibiotics lately. They kill off your good bacteria and allow yeast to overgrow, causing the white on your tongue. Try eating a lot of yogurt. The healthy bacteria in yogurt may kill off the yeast. If this doesn't work, see a doctor, who will give you some antifungal medication. I deal with this kind of stuff for a living. good luck.
