Was wondering if there was any kind of program that would help people that need to go to the dentist.?
I need some dental work and I don't have the extra money to do it. I'm on a very limited budget on social security. There aren't any dentists that will take payments.
Answers:
Dont be fooled! You DONT have to go to a dental school or clinic!
Heres something that can help you with the cost of that, no need to pay thru the nose. they are your teeth, you should be able to feel good about them.
You can get low cost work done at high quality dentists: There is a very in-expensive but high-quality dental plan that can help you with that. It doesnt pay 100%, but can save you signifcant money, and most dentists are good about taking payments if you at least have a plan of some sort. Another good thing is, unlike tradional insurance, everyone in the US qualifies for it (except alaska and montana) Read on:

Medicaid and/or Medicare should pay for basic dental needs.
Unfortunately, I have yet to find one. I have been suckered in before by those individual dental plans but you have to pay a high monthly premium, AND here's the kicker you have to pay for many months before a filling can even be done. I think it was a six month waiting period before that could be done. I felt completely ripped off. I'm in the same boat; dental work needs to be done and my husband just started a new job and I was laid off so i will keep you posted on anything i find. Good Luck!
As someone stated below you can try a dental school, I used to go to the UW dental school in Seattle, WA and that usually runs about half price. During final exams they even pay the patient to have their fillings done. The fillings are free and your paid..what a good deal. Unfortunately, I had to quit going there when I was working because you had to be available during their hours every day of the week. Hopefully you will get the info you need from these posts.take care.
try a dental school in your area if you are okay with a dental student working on you. some of them do dental work at a reduce price. i have a friend that uses a dental school in our area and have heard other people say that that's where the go. look on the net or in your local phone book for the name of dental schools in your area.
hope this helps
being on social security, you should, as implied above, have medicare and/or medicaid. my dentist - western dental (it's a chain, so there might be one near you) - takes 'em. i can't say it's top notch work, at all times (it varies), but it gets the job done, for a while, at least.
well im in need of dentist work too i need to get these dam wisdom teeth pulled and some other things done im hell scared about it but im really so silly god ive given birth to children now thats gotta hurt alot more.I dont have to money either due to raising children on a low income so i guess i will be asking my parents for some kind of surrport as i need them to be fixed.I hope everything goes well for you ,Best of luck with it all
Yes, there is inexpensive dental help for you at the local college that teaches dental students. Call for an appointment the wait is sometimes long.So be prepared.
