Does anyone know any good remedies for relieving a tooth ache?
Answers:
In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.
Crushed cloves, applied to the tooth often helps.
anything with alcohol in it. vanilla extract or whisky, vodka.some people dont know it but vanilla extract has alot of alcohol in it.
Try anbesol or orajel for the pain, that helps. You can buy either of these over the counter at Wal-Mart or any drugstore.
Also, if you have an infection you might want to try gargling with a peroxide rinse. Just mix 1 part peroxide with 1 part water and swish it around in your mouth for a bit, just don't swallow it, this will help if you happen to have an infected tooth.
This is my mothers home remedy for toothache. I recently had to do it when I had a toothache and didn't have any insurance to see the dentist, it helped me. It's not a cure, but it will help you until you can get to the dentist. Hope it works for ya!
This may sound weird, but it doesn't hurt try:
I've heard that the nerve endings of your teeth are connected to the part between your thumb and index finger (the flappy skin). If you numb it with ice, supposedly, it should dull the pain.
Try to take a pain reliever preferably Mefenamic Acid if possible that's what I take when I have tooth ache. The pain goes away in a few minutes I guarantee that.
If you don't want to take any medicine try to gargle a warm water with salt and then put a toothpaste on the aching tooth. It will relieve you for an hours.
But don't forget to go to the dentist the next day. The Pain will just keep coming back.
