Dre: If ur teeth have conical roots, does that mean ur more prone 2 cavities?
Plz answer plz answer plz answer.
Answers:
No, it just means that you are more prone to losing them if you get periodontal disease, so take good care of 'em.
Yes
I don't know why it would. You are talking about the roots, not the crowns of the teeth where you usually get cavities. You CAN get cavities on the roots if they get exposed by receding gumlines.
Conical roots means the teeth at the roots are shaped like an ice cream cone. I don't think they are more prone to cavities any more than other teeth are.
believe me there is absolutely no link between you having conical roots making it prone to cavities...i repeat the word "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING"..
There are many reasons for a person being prone to cavities:
1)very very sugary diet
2)not maintaining oral health(not brushing properly)
3)decrease salivation(decrease in saliva due to disease.etc.
4)enamel(outermost structure of tooth),dentinal(second structure to enamel) defect leading to tooth being vulnerable to caries
so dont worry there is no relation between conical root and cavity
