I grind my teeth in my sleep, what brand of mouth guards work well?

You can ask your dentist, or some of his/her office personnel, about some commercial brands that they recommend. I had purchased the brand that you mentioned, for my wife about a year ago. They were about $59.00 (not including shipping),via internet purchase. She has been totally satisfied with them. A prior brand she had were too uncomfortable, and would cause her to "drool" while she slept! You may experiment with a less expensive brand, if price is your obstacle. Comfort was her problem. Needless to say, we don't look that great when we wake up in the morning, but that extra touch of "drool", will really set it off! I felt she was worth it. Splurge a little for your smiles sake. Your teeth will be with you for a long time if you give them good treatment. If a brand doesn't allow you to fully close your mouth, causes drooling, or pressure sores on the inside of your mouth, then that is not a good brand.
For the dentist to make the mold and custom shape a guard for you can be a bit more pricey, and not necessarily any better than a good commercial brand(depends on how good your dentist is). By the way, any item you can purchase over the counter in stores, can be purchased a little cheaper over the internet with a debit or credit card. Good luck on your selection!
We used a football mouth guard for my brother it worked just fine
ooh--ooh! i saw a commercial about it on tv but damn i forgot the name
but i found this http://www.totalgard.com/
ask the dentist
go to a dental clinic and have them make a custom fit one for you, it's the best route to go, fits great, not cheap but insurance if you have it covers most of it.
I'm a grinder/clencher and I had my dentist fit me with a bruxism appliance. It cost about 300.00 including the office visit. It is a hard, clear acrylic thing that fits over my front teeth. They made a mold of my front teeth and upper palate during the initial visit then I came back a couple of days later for the fitting. I didn't think it would help as all of the clenching and grinding is in the bottom and back teeth, but the appliance makes you open your bite slightly so there is no contact in the back during sleep. I now clinch my front teeth but it is still better than it was. I still get some soreness when I teach all day and my jaw still pops and hurts, but the device has taken away the worst part of the tmj headaches. A coworker has the same device and we both feel that it is better than sleeping without it. As for my friend, she spent 3,000.00 at a tmj specialist and the evaluation procedure was very painful and the more expensive nightguard he made caused her more pain than the front mouthpiece her regular dentist made.
