My tooth is KILLING me... cold/hot water even air makes my tooth hurt very badly... what can i do?

Answers:    There are a few possibilities for your condition, for example tooth sensitivity due to thinning of enamel(the outer most layer of our teeth), abrasion, attrition, erosion; caries, fractured or cracked tooth.etc
Anyway, you need to see a dentist to have a proper diagnosis, and get the right treatment. Why do you want to suffer while you can get relieved by seeing the dentist?
use a small scredriver and a hammer
You can get that ora-gel stuff and put it on the hurt tooth. Oh, and go see your dentist because you might either have a cavity or need something extensive like a root canal.Good Luck!
you can pull it out yourself or see a dentist.
Who will probably pull it out anyway.
you really should go to the dentist.you could also try a toothpaste like sensodyne...
been there and I really fill for you but you will have to do like the rest of us and go see a dentist.
go see a dentists. There could be several reasons your tooth is oversensitive.
Lay a baby aspirin on it and make an appointment with a dentist. Let them know that you are in pain and they will get you in as soon as possible. Dental appointments are not nearly as painful as that tooth. Take care of it, you'll feel better soon.
Go to the dentist or play hockey so that it gets knocked out!
I would go to the dentist! They could fix it for sure, I mean thats what they do right?
Take a couple of Advil, and call your dentist, as those tooth aches are telling you something is wrong. I have had a few major tooth aches, in my life and it was on a Sunday, so all I could do was take advil until I got into the dentist, on Monday, and then he prescribed some pain meds. and then I had to have a root canal done, then the pain was gone. good luck.
I recently had the same problem and dreaded going to the dentist, thinking I had a bad cavity. Instead, what the dentist told me is that the enamel was thinning on my teeth so he put a thin coating of something over my tooth and that was it. He also has me using sensodyne toothpaste because he said as we get older, and if we brush too strongly, we wear down the enamel.

So, you might have a similar situation...or you may have a cavity that needs to be filled. You do need to see a dentist though because that pain won't go away any other way.
Well that happened to me. It could go away in a bit.You also could have sensitive teeth. Worse case is you might have an exposed nerve. So if I were you I would be making a dentist appointment for now you should get some ambasol ( i think that's how It's spelt ) The Ambasol will numb the place you apply it too. on the spot that it hurts. Good Luck, I hope I helped. ;]
Hi I feel for you. My tooth is killing me also. I have like a hole in my tooth. Walmart has this tooth filler like this cement stuff. It is a quick fix if you cant go to the dentist. Those gels didnt work for me but this stuff has.. I hope your tooth gets to feeling better.
UNFORTNATELY YOU YOURSELF CAN ONLY TAKE SOME IBUPROFEN TO FEEL A LITTLE BETTER. YOU NEED AN EXAM BY A DENTIST TO DO TESTS FOR THE APPROPRIATE TREATMENT.
THE FACT THAT ALL PAIN COMES FROM AIR, HOT AND COLD MAY SPEAK OF AN EXPOSED NERVE. THIS MEANS A ROOT CANAL OR EXTRACTION IS THE TREATMENT.
SIMPLE RECEEDING GUMS WOULD BE AIR AND COLD SENSITIVE, BUT NOT HOT.
THE OTHER POSSIBILITY MAY BE A CRACKED TOOTH WHERE THE NERVE IS ALSO EXPOSED, BUT DEPENDING ON THE BREAK THIS WOULD ALSO BE PAINFUL TO TOUCH, ESPECIALLY SIDE TO SIDE.
SEE A DENTIST.
Do not lay an aspirin on it, swallow the aspirin. It will give your gum a tissue burn. It doesn't work until it dissolves into blodd stream so swallow it. You have a cavity, more than likely. You can alternate pain killers, ie- tylenol 2 hours later aspirin 2 hours later back to tylenol. Stay away from coffee and ice cold drink, only real help is the dentiist to fix it.
I have the same problem. I went to the dentist, they filled some and i think i've had 4 root canals. but still my teeth are very sensitive. I really dont have an answer to your question but just wanted to let you know that i feel your pain. And it sux! Advil really helps me when i get a tooth ace. Hope everything works out and it all goes away for ya!
