Ihave a tooth that broke off at the gums. And it is hurting very bad do you have a remedy to stop the pain. I'm laid off and have no money to get it pulled.

Answers:

Clove Oil. It smells but it works.
aspirin
then there are free clinics for the unemployed
ask at a hospital
I know you don't have $$ but it might end up costing you more (and the discomfort and pain) in the end. If you can try to find a way to go to the dentist you should.
if you have any whole cloves, take off the stem & bite down on the ball part of the clove- has analgesic or whatever it's called in it & will numb the pain--at least make it bearable
Well anything you do take will only be a temporary solution to the pain and you could possibly take too much pain reliever when it gets bad. Are there any dental schools there? Maybe they could do it there? Do you have a regular dentist? Maybe you can explain your job situation to them and they could help.
well what i do is get an ice cube and put it to yor gums for a few minuets but if your like me with sensitive teeth the hld your nose wile doing it and it wont hurt but it will work!

good luck!

If you were seeing a dentist before you lost your job call and explain that you do not have insurance and very little money and tell him about the broken tooth. I'm sure he would try to work something out with you and get you out of your pain. I don't know where you are but it might be too late today to do that. I know the pain is severe so you might want to go to the emergency room all hospitals have to treat the sick and injured regardless of their ability to pay. They won't be able to fix the tooth but will at least be able to get you a strong pain killer and make you more comfortable until you can talk to the dentist. Do not take any of the really strong pain killers with alcohol this could be a deadly combination.
If you have access to a free clinic or a dental school, you're home free. Otherwise the best suggestion so far is to call the dentist, tell them what happened and that you're in terrible pain, and ask about a payment plan. Don't let this go - it won't get any better, and could give rise to a serious infection.

Good luck -
There is no quick, homemade remedy to cure this. The tooth is broke into the nerve chamber, This is not fixable at home. You can take pain medication to ease the pain but removing the root is the only "cure".

Absolutely do not take the advice for putting an aspirin on the nerve. That is the type of advice that us in the dental field cringe when we hear. Aspirin left sitting on tissue will burn it. Take the aspirin, do not put it on the tooth. That is very bad advice. Please listen to a real dental professional. There is a dentist on here by the name Dr Sam. If you don't want to take my advice, contact him. He is a great guy and would help you.
oh my go to the dentist. Check and see if there are dental clinics or schools nearby . They often do work on a pay grade. Call you'll local clinic and they can help if you can't pay but get some help like now.
Take some asprin andsome origel or ambesol. Rinse with listerine or peroxide to keep out infection. That should hold you over.
The nerve is exposed and will eventually die, if you can stand the pain in the meantime. Try 600mg. ibuprofen(Advil, etc.) for the pain.
