My dental hygenist recommends a Sonicare, and they work well.
I use a Makita grinder with 100 grit sandpaper on it- works fine
Oral B Cross Action is good, medium or soft head. The Pulsar is good too.it has bristles that pulse as you brush.quite cool actually.
You can use any toothbrush, you just have to brush good enough

I use the sonicare electric toothbrush. Not only does it really do a good job of brushing teeth, my gingivitis has all but gone. It's great, I'll never go back to a manual toothbrush again.
I have noticed that it doesnt matter the toothbrush but the thoothpaste that I use!

Toothbrushes are overrated and only part of the story. It's not so much the toothbrush; it's your daily regimen. Any soft bristle toothbrush will do. You want to floss, brush, and scrape your tongue twice a day. When you floss, make sure you go all the way between the teeth up to the gumline. You want to brush for 2 minutes for the flouride to take effect. Use gentle sweeping motions -- sweeping away from the gumline and do not scrub your teeth. Finish up with a good tongue brushing or scraping (with a tongue scraper). This regimen along with regular dental visits will make plaque a thing of the past.
electris as usually the better choice i personally like sonicare but any manuel brush will do...its how you brush really not what you brush with
