It is not necessarily an infection. It could be that you just don't brush your tongue, yes you're supposed to. You don't need any special toothbrush, the one you use on your teeth is fine. Make sure you reach all the way in the back, even though it will make you gag. It should become pink again, if it doesn't then you could be facing an infection.

you could have oral thrush, a type of yeast infection in your mouth. You should see a doctor, you might need a perscription for a nystatin mouth rinse. Also try eating stonyfield farms yogurt, the live cultures can help restore normal flora and eliminate the thrush.
This happens. Do you smoke? Chew? Dip? Drink? Scorch your tongue on coffee or tea? It will probably clear itself up. If it doesn't. see a dentist or doctor.
It may be some kind of infection..change your toothbrush and use a new one before doing anything else..if it doesn't go away, consult a dentist or doctor.
