Tongue ring make gums recede?
Answers:
I have receding gums, but my dentist didn't tell me why they were receding. I don't have a tongue ring or anything. I brush, floss, and swish every day. Yet I've still had 6 teeth bonded at the gumline because the gums were receding, the root was exposed, and I was in a crapload of pain. So, if you don't wanna go through that pain then listen to the dentist.even tho I've never heard of tongue rings receding gum lines...only cracking teeth.
I've not heard of gum receding, but I have heard of cracked teeth. If you take it out you will be left with a cool bump in the spot the ring was in, and you can be the only person with a bump on your tongue.
If it is hitting your gums I don't see why not. I've had gum recession from using a hard toothbrush, and it wasn't made of metal.
I would think if the ring is where it should be it would not have this affect. Receding fums to a point are good but past that it does cause a problem. It might be time to talk to a different dentist. It might be that he just does not like people having rings on their tongues.
I wuld not like to have a GF with one. In fact if she got ne she would instantly not be my GF. That is me and I am not saying you should not have it.
