i have a white spor on my tongue and i think it is a canker sore. how can i treat it? it's very painful. what can i use to make it go away or at least numb it? :(

Ouch! i recommend Orabase to some of my patients and it seems to help out. You can find that it in the drug store. Warm salt water is also good. Avoid alcohol based mouthwash bc that will just sting! Chew some vitamin C tablets too! canker sores can sometimes indicate a deficiency.
Unfortunately there isnt a cure-all..you'll have to ride it out but there are things you can do to make it less painful. Good luck!
Wash your mouth with mouthwash which will kill the bacteria.It will heal quickly anyway
There are several things you can do. Gargling your mouth with luke warm salt water will help. Keep it in your mouth for a few minutes. Also products such as oragel and kank-a are great pain relieving products.
But hands down the best product that I have used to heal fast is Colgate Peroxyl, it is a mouthwash. It does not relieve any pain, but super speeds the healing process.

My son used to get those too. The doctor told us to mix Maalox with a liquid Benadryl (sp). and swab it on there. You could gargle like some other poster suggest too to reduce the chances for recurrence.
you can rinse with a diluted solution of 3% hydroxen peroxide, or put some campho-phenique on a cotton swab and apply to the sore, or if none of that works you may have to go to a dr. and have him apply silver nitrate to it..good luck
