who is best chemical cure or light cure composit ?

Answers:
Depends on where you are using it. Posterior or anterior. We use Heliomolar in the posterior, with a thin layer of Revolution at the base, a flowable composite. We use Epic Tmpt in the anterior. I have also heard that Prisma and TPH are good.

As HM says, it depends. I have barely touched a chemical cure composite in 20-25 years, though. I only use it if it will be in a place where I can not get the light to go. I buy a kit and keep it in the refrigerator and end up throwing it out and buying a new one after 4 or 5 years. Actually, I sold the last one on eBay. It was outdated by one year, but it was always in the refrigerator and I never even broke the seal on the box.

I remember in dental school we could not place composites in the summer, because the clinic was not air-conditioned in those days. Nova was BRAND NEW and students were not allowed to use it! You could not even mix the base and catalyst pastes without the composite setting on the mixing pad in the hot weather. This is not a problem with light cured composite. I don't know where you actually practice or what conditions you are in, but this might be a factor for you.

I just saw a NuvaFil (ultraviolet light cured) that I placed in 1977. No, it's not cosmetically the greatest (Nuva tended to darken over time.), but it's on the MI corner (including the incisal angle) of an upper central and the patient is still happy with it. He was 12 years old when I did it! I don't like the color, but otherwise it's perfect. You can't complain about that.

Personally, I prefer the idea that I only have to deal with a controlled increment and I can place it in such a way that any shrinkage might be favorable to the final restoration. With checmical cure, you can't do this and then you have a mass of composite that will shrink towards the center and away from the margins (microscopically, of course) and I think this leads to earlier failure of the restoration.
