Probably a left over from our ancestors big neanderthal tpye of jaws. Our jaws became smaller but the number of teeth didn;t. May be we need to breed the trait out the human race.

I don't know. They suck.

They are there to block our wisdom because once they fall off we seems to get wiser
Nothing, Wisdom Teeth are usually pulled out when you turn twenty or so.

All I know it was 2 days off work and 2 weeks of eating nothing but slimfast and yogurt.
Back when cavemen ate mostly meat and poorly cooked food, they needed those teeth to chew to tough meat. Humans thesedays don't really need em anymore.

I suppose when humans first had them they ate raw, tough food and developed bigger jaws.
I was lucky, mine broke the skin and just showed their white tips, then they went down again never to resurface. My mum said it was because they could see their was no wisdom in my head.
I don't know what happened to them. I suppose they just got reabsorbed.
Wisdom teeth are a valuable asset to the mouth when they are healthy and properly positioned. Often, however, problems develop that require their removal. When the jaw isn't large enough to accommodate wisdom teeth, they can become impacted (unable to come in or misaligned). Wisdom teeth may grow sideways, emerge only part way from the gum or remain trapped beneath the gum and bone.
I think prehistoric people needed them
they make you wise!!dummy
