Retainer question..?

Hate to break it to you. If it has been 3 years since your braces are off, and you have not worn your retainer at all, it is probably no good any more and you might need braces to realign your teeth again. My orthodontist told me when my braces come off, I will have to wear my retainer every day for at least 3-6 months and at least twice a week for the rest of my life. If your teeth have already shifted, it is unlikely your retainer will have the power to move them, but you can try it first and see what happens.
This is my second time in braces, though, and I even wore my retainer the first time around... for a year or two, then I stopped. Several years later, here I am, back in braces..
But hey, everyone's different, and you may be younger than me. Why not ask your orthodontist? They ought to be able to answer this over the phone, or you can stop in and visit and they can tell you if the retainer will still work. It'll save you thousands of dollars if it does!
yes because your braces moved them and you teeth moved again so the retainer is uncomfortable UNTIL you start wearing it when your supposed to
