What majors do i need to be a dentist? and what is the best dental school?

Answers:
It helps to look into the requirements for admission to a dental school and work backwards. This will help you choose your college major and it might even help you choose your college. Typically, it is easier to match up the requirements for dental school admission with the requirements of a science major and biology seems to be the closest match. You could be a history major if you wanted to be, but then all of your electives would probably be used up trying to take courses required for dental school admission.

Just "for instance," here's my old school and the admission requirements:

Naturally, I have a bias that still says Penn is the best, but there are many excellent schools located in various regions of the US.
penn is a good school but if you really want to get a good clinical experience then UT memphis is the best school in the world. our requirements for graduation are the most difficult in the country. i was so prepared that i opened my own office straight out of school.

i got my degree in biochem because i already had to take those classes as prerequisites for dental school. boy do i wish i had taken some small business administration classes though! my advice would be to minor in business and get your degree in some kind of biology or chemistry since you have to take thoses classes.
Both men are entirely correct. Im currently a biochemisty major since I have to take these courses anyway. Hopefully you enjoy math and science! I love both so its sincerly easy. Im minoring in business as well to open my own practice in the near future. Im going to be attending UCLA for dental school, yet Loma Linda University as well as Penn are wonderful schools.
