have any of you had a broken decayed tooth pulled? a broken decayed wisdom tooth? what is teh proces and if it breaks how do they remove it?

I had a decayed wisdom tooth pulled.all 4 actually, but the bottom two were somewhat impacted and as a result sort of decayed.

I remember they gave me a price quote for the procedure including the cost of some "drilling" to have to remove the impacted bottom teeth. I guess they have to excavate them a bit. In the end, despite being sort of "out of it" from the anasthetic, I remember questioning why the bill I got was for a few hundred less than the original quote. They told me that they had anticipated a lot of trouble getting the bottom impacted teeth out, and yet they actually had very little trouble, the teeth pretty much "popping" out when a little wrenching pressure what provided.

Good news is, decayed teeth, as yucky as they are to have in your mouth, just might provide less resistance when being yanked, even if they are partially impacted. It worked out pretty well for me anyway.

nope, hasn't happened to me. But had to have a root canal done in one of my front teeth. Now i have to get a stupid crown.
The dentist knows what they are doing. They can get the pieces of tooth out while you feel nothing but a little pulling. No pain just pressure. A bad tooth can give you a lot more trouble if you dont have it removed
IF THAY CAN'T PULL IT OUT EASILY YOU MIGHT HAVE TO BE PUT TO SLEEP .its can cost a bit if you need that done..
My husband had this done twice. It depends on if there's enough of the tooth for the dentist to grab onto with the tool he uses to pull the tooth. If he can't get it that way it will have to be cut out.
If it is wisdom tooth, it is usually incised. don't you worry the dentist will always put anaesthesia and you won't feel a thing.
I have had 2 broken decayed wisdom teeth pulled out. Both teeth were rotted down to below the gum.

In my experience, the procedure itsself was quick and painless. However, I experienced bleeding for about 2 days (which is expected), and took painkillers for about a week (which was my choice).

Dentists will usually break the tooth further to remove it and ocassionally the may have to scrape the jaw bone to remove any decay. There is most often a surgical stitch. I've had 2 wisdom teeth removed in this manner.
They just pulled mine. It was broken but there was enough left for the dentist to pull it. It felt weird but it didn't hurt because it was numb and the root was dead.
