Answers:
This is the usual procedure @ our office.

1st step: Examination & consultation.

2nd step: records. Pictures, x-rays and impressions of your teeth.

3rd step: spacers/separators. These make room to place bands on your 6-year molars.

4th step: braces. Most patients get the upper and lower appliances on the same day. (We schedule 1 1/2 hrs for this appt.) However, we sometimes have to start with just the top and place the lower after a few months due to the postion of the teeth when the patient bites down.

If you have all of your permanant teeth now, you can expect to be in treatment for about 2 years, give-or-take. It depends on how your teeth are aligned, if your bite needs to be corrected and how well you cooperate with your orthodontist.

I hope that answers your question.

depends how mad your teeth are...i only had mine about a year and a half.but some people i know have had them for 4-5 years.
It took me 2 years to look this great. Before that, I had a monkey face.
