What is the best type of toothpaste to use if you have braces?

just normal stuff or what?

what is the best oralcare for braces?

Answers:
You need a flouride rinse most of all. Brushing with any toothpaste is fine (2 mins or more) but the oral rinse is what saves your teeth with braces on it (1 min rinse)

Cost is $10 a bottle for the good ones.
Gleem works best for polio victims.
well i have braces and i use the same tooth paste but i use a softer tooth brush
It dosen't matter
Try Sensodyne toothpaste, it is gentle on your teeth, and helps with your sensitivity.
My orthodontist gave me Squiggle, it's not harsh on them, and it tastes good!
well i use the crest but if u ask your orthadontist he will tell u what he suggests
Seems like your orgho would've advised you on this, but here goes. Make sure you brush with a flouride toothpaste at least twice a day. It is suggested you brush after every meal and snack. If you can't brush, at least rinse your mouth vigorously with water afterwards. Make sure you floss DAILY. This is very important.
Braces, wires, springs, rubber bands, and other appliances can attract food and plaque, which can stain your teeth if not brushed away. Most orthodontists recommend brushing after every meal or snack with fluoride toothpaste and carefully removing any food that may have gotten stuck in your braces. Some orthodontists will also prescribe or recommend a fluoride mouthwash, which can get into places in your mouth that a toothbrush can't.

Take your time when brushing your teeth, and use mouth wash!
anything will do, toothpaste actually doesn't make brushing that much effective, ive heard about 15- 20 percent, but everyone loves the minty clean breath!

its more important that you floss inbetween your braces, use a floride mouthwash, and brush your teeth well. the brand isnt going to make that much of a difference.
The toothpaste you used before braces is fine. The key is to use something called Superfloss to clean around the brackets to remove plaque. Gargle with mouthwash, too. Brush hard and get every spot, or your gums will redden. If you feel sore, pop an advil or use one of the oral gels (for kids and adults with braces) at the grocery store.
my daughter was prescribed prevident toothpaste, it's by prescription only but i can order it for 10.00 a tube from Canada pharmacy. she also uses prevident mouthwash once a week at bedtime. she brushes after meals with a normal fluoride toothpaste like crest or Colgate. you do NOT want to use whitening or you will have dark spots on your teeth when the braces are removed from the whitening toothpaste lightening the area around the braces. don't use anything either that says it's a plaque remover, that does the same thing as the whitening toothpastes.
