dental disclosing tablets? HELP!?

on the day that i got braces, the lady that helped me put them on gave me some pinkish tablets. she told me about chewing them and rinsing and brushing them but her english wasn't really good so i didn't really understand what she was saying. what are you susposed to with these tablets? last night, i just chewed them up and then rinse and i brushed like five times and now my tongue is pink! what do i do?

Answers:
1. Chew half a tablet, swishing it around your mouth
2. Look in the mirror to see where the plaque is hiding
3. Brush and floss your teeth
4. Chew the other half of the tablet as before
5. Look in the mirror to see what you missed
6. Lather, rinse, repeat, or at least remember and do a better job next time

Your tongue will lose the pink color quick enough, but you could brush or scrape your tongue and it won't stain as pink next time.

Do not spit into a dry sink when you are using disclosing tablets. Run some water and spit into the pool of running water.

disclosing tablets help you to see the amount of plaque that is stucked on your teeth. i am guessin that the doc gave you that because when you get braces you are very prone to getting lots of food stucked on them and if your hygiene as in brushing is not good than you can find out how bad your brushing is by chewing those tablets. dont worry about the pink tongue it will go away. the tablets you were suppose to use amybe once in a week so as to check your brushing. if your teeth looks pink its because of the soft plaque attached to it and so indicating that you need to brush more properly. ok.
Listerine now makes a mouth rinse for kids, Listerine Agent Cool Blue. It works the same as the disclosing tablets, without the hassle of chewing a tablet. It is easy to use and will stain the plaque so that you can see where you need to brush better!! Do a search and check it out!
