How to stop this habit?
Answers:
My brother does the same thing! The best way to kick any habit first starts with awareness, then practice. When you are aware you're doing this simply stop. You have to tain your mind not to doit the same way you trained yourself to to it. It will take some practice but that's all you can do. You simply have to want to stop.
Coat the inside of your cheeks with something disgusting.
OMG! I do the same exact thing. I usually do it more when I'm nervous or stressed! Only thing I've found to keep me from doing it is to chew gum.
I do it all the time. I don't know why I do it either. Just try not to do it, and you will stop doing it.
put the crack pipe down. LOL try gum or life savers.
the easiest way to break a habit,, DONT DO IT.
MAYBE put you tongue in the road of your teeth, you'll learn not to bite
well, everytime you catch yourself doing that do something like wash your mouth out with dishsoap or something to that nature.

WOW! I thought I was the only one with this problem. When I decide to quit, I make a consious effort to stop. I think about it all day for about a week. Then it kinda stops after that. It's easy to not do it when you rub your tongue over your cheek and it is nice and soft again. When I get nervous, it starts back up again. I have to then make the same efforts over again. You just have to make yourself do it.
OMG! I do that to.I always thought I was the only one.I find it something I do more when I'm under stress.Try to reduce your stress, try yoga or a journal or excersise.I know gum helps but you cant always chew gum.Sugar free candy will keep your mouth busy.I think its just like any other habit you have to figure out why you do it and find an alternitive. But it really is harmless if you can stop for like a week that feeling in your cheeks will go away.
I can't help you...because I do the same thing. Man it drives me crazy... I am always biting the inside of my cheeks and it is bad for you...if you figure it out please let me know!!

your dentist could help you practically by making a thin plate for you. you can wear it at sleep between your upper and lower teeth. it helps the muscles relax and eventually reduce the habit.
