How important is the moler in the teeth and how long does the numming last?

i went to the dentist and i have decay on my molers and he said thats a important tooth and the anesthia they used wont go away

Molars are important because the catch the brunt of chewing force when you eat. People that lose molars risk breaking down their other teeth, because they aren't used to the chewing stress as much. So, you should try to keep your molars. As far as the anesthesa, it should go away! The kind we use in my office lasts 1-2 hours, depending on the person. Of course different offices use different methods but they all should wear off. I mean otherwise, that's just weird! Talk to him further about this and if necessary, find another dentist. Good luck.
