Braces; Rubber Elastics: Will the Pain and discomfort ever go away?

i have braces and my orthodontist always tightens my braces a ton. Also he gives me extremely tight elastics. THe pain for me goes away after a week and braces and elastics feel like they've always been on. Theres always problems like wires breaking too and alot of times they dig in to your gums. So, the braces eventually feel normal..but there are always small problems and pain. the trick is to take asprin and dont eat any hard food when your teeth hurt..that makes it worse. Oh and dont eat with elastics in because i've swallowed them before.
I don't think the pain ever goes away but it gets more tolerable You get to a point to it dose not bother you as much
That happened to me too. The pain from the braces goes away in a few days after every visit for a tightening(about once every 6 weeks). The elastics will get stretchy after a couple hours and you won't notice them as much, that's wat happened to me. Good Luck!
