Hey.. Can some one tell me which orto retainers are the best. The metal once or the plastic invisible once. :)
I am going to remove my braces next month and wanna have invisable retainers. But my ortodontis is not offering those type and clames that the plastic once do not benefit, and do breake, and do strech with your teeth. But i asked araund no one else sais that. ( Including dentists and other orthodontists.) And every body resently having the invisable ratainers.
Could you please advise me if you know any info ragarding this.

And also i heard the plastic once do not effect the speach as much as the metal once do.. ;)

Both types have advantages and disadvantages. The metal ones are less esthetic, have a wire that crosses the teeth, and are expensive to make and replace. they, on the other hand, are easily adjusted, durable, and allow more settling of the teeth into contact. They also are better at holding the transverse (width) of your teeth. the clear retainers are more esthetic, cheaper and easier to make. They are often not as durable as the metal retainers. They both will hold your teeth if you wear them. the choice is up to each individual orthodontist
I believe that the invisible ones aren't really "perfected" yet. But the metal ones have been around longer and is pretty effective. But it's worth it. Because the metal ones are guranteed. But I'll ask around.
