is it bad for your enamel if you drink ice tea?
In some commericals and other sources that drinking a lot of ice tea is bad for your enamel? is this true or somekind of myth? Cause i drink a lot of it and theres pretty much nothing wrong with my teeth from what i heard my dentist say.
Answers:
As long as you drink unsweetened tea there should be no problem (less risk of cavities). But the tea itself is fine, won't harm your teeth. Unsweetened is healthier and tastes better (at least to me) anyway. =) In fact, I'm drinking some right now. *raises glass* Cheers!
I heard its great for the enamel.
I've never heard that tea is bad for your tea other than it can stain your teeth. Drinking any sugary drinks can cause cavities but the tea alone isn't bad for your teeth.
Yeah, ice tea contains sugar and anything sweet is not advisable. The tooth decay will appear in a few years time, not so soon. Trust me, you won't want to look toothless by mid-life.
If it has caffeine in it, it will stain your teeth after long-term use, like coffee.
The only thing I am aware of about tea regarding teeth is with prolonged and frequent use tea can stain your teeth, but certainly with just an occasional glass of tea you should be fine.
Some ice teas are acidic and are therefor bad for your teeth. Ask your Dentist for more info.
