why am i addicted to chewing ice? and how can i stop?
..the dentist says I have 6 cavities. it could be from chewing a lot of ice because I never eat candy.
Answers:
It's common. Switch to sugarless gum.
chew water
Ice is Water.. I don't think that chewing ice would cause cavities.. I chew ice all the time.
were the same, but im not much addicted on chewing ice
well anyway, you could stop it by it depends on you
i had that problem . my iron was really low try taking iron pills r have ur doctor check ur iron .
Ice is very bad for your teeth, stop now and chew on sugarless gum.
I think your dentist is full of it. It has to do with a vitamin deficiency from what I've heard, but haven't confirmed it from any authority. How to stop? Wait until you break a tooth or just stop it.
'Nuff said?
.. dont make your mouth a freezer.. you know the problem then make it stop.. just eat lollipop instead or have ice cold drinks..
chew gum. i used to chew ice a lot and i startd to chew gum instead and now i dont chew ice that much anymore
I think on the planet pluto, the air is so cold it is chewable, so you might just be an alien, or you might be just addicted to chewing ice. Why? The same reason you get addicted to anything else, it just becomes a habit. The only way to stop is to stop. Use willpower.
Its called pagophagia. It can either mean that you are anemic (low iron) or have a condition called pica which is when people eat things that are not real food (plaster, starch, soap, etc.). Some anorexics also eat ice. Hope this helps.
Lord knows why, but there seems to be a fairly high correlation between a desire to chew ice and anemia. Get a blood test from your doctor.
You need to see your doctor for sure and have a blood test.
Craving ice is one of the signs of anemia. You should be taking
iron tablet. I take two a day.
FYI.Iron tables can make you constipated. So be careful how much you take.
I remember hearing a myth that said " if you chew ice it means you are sexually frustrated".?
I am sure of one thing you did not get the cavities from ice cubes!
The cavities are caused by acids produced in your mouth, generally by bacteria working on traces of food there. The ice is a separate issue, and that's been addressed above. Find out if you're anemic; your doctor can recommend iron and/or B vitamins to correct the condition if it exists.
Need to have your iron tested cause when I was pregnant that is what they told me, If I started craving ice to tell them so they could check my iron.
