Chipped tooth.?

I am 13, and in primary school i chipped the bottom left corner on my top right big tooth. and once again, a few years later i was trying to open something with my teeth (i think) and i chipped the bottom left corner on my top big left tooth.
I have been meaning to get it filled in by the dentist but i keep on forgeting. just the other week, i think the left one chipped a bit more. so i am going to get it filled in before it gets worse. i am not the type of person that has a tooth problem and lets it get worse. how would they do this? its not a BIG chip. but it does kind of stand out since the other tooth is the same. and yes they are fully grown.
thankyou!! xx

The dentist can work miracles. I had a chip in my tooth as well, and the dentist did a wonderful job of filling it in. They will use cement or something like that to fill it in. Then, to make it blend in with the rest of your tooth, they can bleach your tooth to make it a uniform color.
They usually just add some material to the area. Most of the time you don't really need to be numbed for it either. Just depends if they need something for the new material to adhere to. Will warn you that those are hard areas to put filling in. You won't be able to bite into anything with that tooth anymore or it can knock it out.
Depending on the size of the chip, the Dentist, or, Cosmetic Dentist, can either file down the tooth, to smooth out any sharp edges, and often reshape it enough so that no addl. work would be needed. If that alone is not sufficient, he can also "Bond" material to the broken tooth, color and shape the added material, and voila, nobody will ever know. either or both procedures are PAINLESS, so go to the Dentist, before addl chips occur, or possible damage to the tooth begins.
The solution is quick and easy. Depending on the size of your chip (would have to be seen rather than read), the cosmetic dentist will use resin to reshape your tooth, and if its really chipped, they will use a Veneer.
