Why is the standard of dentistry in Britain so bad?

Why are we considered to have bad teeth in relation to other nations?.After all aren't we a developed nation?

It's not! you should see it over here in the USA, except for where malibou barbies live and daddy pays for everythig, many americans have worse teeth than most brits and the dentists are awful, i had the most painful filling ever done a couple of months ago, am now waiting to go home to the Uk to have my dental work done while i'm on holiday.
It's not really - just difficult to get good treatment on the NHS now.

This is because the government doesn't pay enough to the dentists for them to spend enough time to do a decent job on each patient.

This is why most dentists have gone private because they couldn't face being forced to rush and not doing as good a job as they'd like. The government has therefore effectively privatised dentistry in this country.

If you want decent treatment, you really have to pay for dentistry insurance so that you can go private. If you think that it costs a lot, just think that you want your teeth to last all your life so not so expensive really.
It's all about supply and demand.

They'll let any old yahoo (really, no pun intended) become a dentist.

And as for the good ones, once they reach 50 and are thinking of retirement, they become just as bad.
its not that bad in britain its the stupid chavs with their drinking sessions and smoking that let us down because of their bad teeth my teeth are perfect and i have never had any fillings or braces or anything so british teeth are not that bad its a stupid stereotypical veiw and not true!
