Question about cavaties?

I have like 2 cavaties that need filled, and although I have dental insurance, I still have to pay out of pocket costs. The most I've had to pay is around $200 dollars. Is there any dental insurance plan out there that anyone recomends? Any advice would be welcome, and I will look into any dental insurance companies that is provided.

Answers:
Dental insurance is the best that they can do. $200 isn't so bad for a couple fillings!

Good luck and god bless

My insurance is Empire and it covers dental and vision. However, i dont know how much of the cost it covers, but my parents seem to be happy with it.
go to a dental school in your area. there you will get quality service and low payments on the fillings. why?? because they are dental students working on you. at the school the professors will not let any dental work go out without their approval. yes, you may spend a little more time at a school, but the $$$ benefits are much better. remember to brush and floss all the time. flossing is a must to maintain good oral hygiene. try that and good luck.
No there really isn't any better insurance. There are plenty of worse ones. You'll have to pay probably a $50 deductible. After that you'll have to pay between 20% and 50% depending on the plan you have.
Ways to maximize your insurance include:
1. Go to an "in network" prover. Someone who has agreed to accept the fees allowed by the insurance carrier. An "out of network" provider is one who may charge fees above those allowed by the insurance company. Charges in excess of those allowed by the insurance company are the responsibility of the patient. Remember though "in network" doesn't mean better dentist. The $10 filling may be a rip off while the $500 filling may be the best you can possibly get. Course that works the other way around too but that's a whole different Oprah.

2. Request amalgam (silver fillings) in back teeth. (I can hear the amalgam haters hiss) Tooth colored fillings cost more. Insurance companies will only reimburse the dentist for the cost of amalgam fillings regardless of what material is used. The difference in cost is again the patient's responsibility to pay.
I'm not sure on that, i have insurance through my husbands work, but it is a union..one of those local somethings..and i don't pay anything out of pocket..but i only have $1000 a year that i can use.
Most dental ins will only pay about 80% on fillings. That is the best coverage you can get. good luck
