I had a dry socket?
Answers:
I could not begin to say if what you are experiencing is normal but I can tell you that a "dry socket" is extremely painful. To the best of my knowledge what that means is after you had the tooth pulled out you probably sucked on the hole (because it hurt) and you very likely sucked out the blood clot that was supposed to stay there for healing purposes. Thus the dry socket. It will probably start getting a lot better now.
Hmm, I could be way off base here, but when you say you are having a lot of pain, I believe you. Once I had bad pain after a dentist visit, I think I had a tooth filled. Well, you're not supposed to have much pain after that but I did. It was killing me. Come to find out the pain was from where they gave me the shot to numb my mouth. Didn't hurt right away, but the next day when all the feeling came back it did. If you have a damaged nerve in your cheek from the needle then it will hurt . The dentist looked funny at me, but he gave me hydrocodone. Took 30 mins for the pain to become bearable.
