Wisdome teeth removal needed?

Should someone still have their wisdom teeth removed if all four are still completely under the gums and are causing no pain or complications as of ...18 years of age? Or will there likely be complications later on? What happens when they do not surface?

As for the procedure, I'm more concerned with the afterwords than during as you'd be numb anyways.is there a lot of pain, or more so discomfort, once they are out?

I know I should ask my dentist, but I just wanted info from people who underwent this experience as an idea of what it's like. -Thanks

There will be some discomfort after this procedure, but not too bad, and they will give you painkillers. Go to an Oral Surgeon rather than your dentist.

If you don't have it done now, the bone in your jaw gets harder and harder as you continue to age making it more difficult to extract them later, plus they will be larger and have more developed roots which could damage nerves during the extraction process.

Also, someone else having a good experience without extraction is NO guarantee whatsoever that you will too.
why fix something that isnt broke, dentist told me i would have all kinds of problems when they start pushing through and this was 20 years ago and i still have them without a problem and so does my dad
I had my wisdom tooth taken out last year. You feel the dentist pulling tooth out,but no pain. I had no pain afterwards either. Try not to worry you'll be fine.
poor u yes they need to come out one way or another. Will advise not having out all at the same time. after having them removed by dentist no matter how good looking he or she is it will be pain full for about 2 to 4 weeks . PS u will live
The older you get the more time it takes to recover from this. They can still cause problems because they can always come out of the gum. I had mine taken out and it wasnt bad at all afterwards. I mean it was annoying and I got drysocket but I would do it if I were you
I had my 2 upper wisdom teeth and a lower molar out 2 days ago and feel great. The wisdom teeth area is giving me no problem at all but am still swollen and sore where the molar was. Go figure!

As long as you have a Dentist who does the proper numbing process all you feel is the pressure of him/her removing the teeth.

I didn't realise they were out until he held them in front of me.
why should you remove a tooth that is not hurting you neither causing you any damage to your health or to the near tooth?
some reasons to do that
like some1 stated before, its better for you to remove it while your only 18. the older you are, harder to remove it.
its better to remove it if you are healthy then waiting to remove it when you are 35 and maybe not so healthy
there are several diseases related to impacted teeth, and some of them are very hazard.
removing it now, u will have the rest of your life to not worry about it anymore.
its cheaper to remove it now then spending money each year re-doing the Xrays exams.

if u chose not to remove it now, its ok, its up to you. but keep in mind you will need to take xrays each 2 years at least, and after 30 y.o., each year.

My opinion? remove them. unless you have bad #17, #27, #37 or #47 teeth, then you can think about removing a bad tooth and pulling the wisdom tooth to replace it.
