Talk to your orthodontist about getting some wax- that's what I had to do. You just kinda stick a little ball of wax on the hook and it doesn't hurt so much. It's still annoying. I feel your pain.

I have braces 2. I just started wearing rubber bands 4 a while now. askthe orthadontist wat u can do 4 it. it didn`t really hurt my top lip.mybe they put u`r braces on wrong.
I know the pain!. Ask your dentist or orthodontist for a thing call dental wax. put the wax over your hook or braces and it wont hurt you anymore!
It has to be the wax! I found it really helped but you end up eating it all the time! You could always use chewing gum in an emergency but it tends to get really tangled up.
try the wax they give you with your braces.
You could use some wax made specifically for braces.

What you should actually do is call the office where you have your braces worked on and tell them. They have the most experience with them and can tell you best what to do.

Call.
I just got braces too and have the same problem. ask your ortho for wax. they will give you instructions for putting it on. wear the wax for a while and then your cut in your upper lip will get tougher and once that is done, you don't have to use the wax anymore! = )
As everybody else has said ask your dentist for some wax or if its a bit of metal thats sticking out he could push it down for you so it stops rubbing
It happens to me all the time. The only thing that will help it is WAX. They should have gave you some of that stuff at the ortho. If they didn't you can go buy it at the store. Hope this helps!
^_^
you need to either go to ur dentist and get some wax or u can go to walmart or a drugstore and buy some most the time its not over 3 dollars at walmart
